Corrosion Behavior of Work Hardened SnPb-Solder Affected Copper in the Bay of Bengal Water Environment

Copper and its alloys are extensively used in marine applications due to high corrosion resistant behavior. But the immunity of copper varies with environmental factors especially sea water ingredients. Many researchers investigated level materials different oceans/seas. Unfortunately, such study is missing Bay Bengal water. Moreover, inclusion alloying elements can have influence on behavior copper, addition SnPb-solder for repair works effects ageing. In fact, urge using old manufacture new components necessitates characterization various properties. this context, present paper an attempt investigate solder affected enhance reuse potential old/waste contact bay along comparison commercial alloys. Here, result shows that overall leaching increased Sn and/or Pb Cu over whole immersion period stagnant Bengal. The highest loss found be Cu-Pb alloy which followed by then Cu-Sn lowest pure copper. cold-rolled work-hardening has reduced rate all It also reveals more than as brass bronze.
